Basarir, Yesim

Basarir, Yesim is an assistant professor of American Culture and Literature at Dokuz Eylul University in Izmir, Turkey, and teaches American urban literature, travel literature, and gothic literature, Puritanism and Enlightenment, modernism and postmodernism in America. She received her BA from Bogazici University (Istanbul) in English Language and Literature, her MA and PhD from Ege University (Izmir) in American Literature. She has published articles on urban writing, gender issues, moral and ethical themes in American fiction, road novel, immigrant literature in America, and comparative literature. Her present research interests include nature writing and post-apocalyptic novel.
