Elias, Nelly

Elias, Nelly has finished her Doctoral dissertation at the Department of Communication, Tel-Aviv University, in 2003. Her Doctoral dissertation subject was: From the Former Soviet Union to Israel and Germany: The roles of mass media in the social and cultural integration of immigrants. She is a lecturer at the Department of Communication Studies, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Her research interests are in the area of mass communication and immigration. Her most recent studies focus on the roles of the mass media in the lives of immigrant children and adolescents in Israel and Germany and on the transnational virtual communities established by immigrants from the FSU.
