Emunemu, Benedict O., Dr.: Lectures in the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He had his B.Ed degree in Educational Management and Economics in 1990 from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, graduating as overall best student of the Department. He was also best graduating M.Ed student of the same Department in 1993. He started his teaching career in 1994, when he got appointed as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. On the successful completion of his doctoral thesis, he was awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree of the University of Ibadan in Year 2000, and also got promoted to the position of Lecturer II in the same year. He is currently Lecturer in the same Department. His teaching and research interests include institutional administration, access and equity in education (with a bias for the girl-child), education and sustainable development. He has about twenty publications in learned local and international journals to his credit. He is equally an educational and management consultant. He participated in the final evaluation of the performance of the Workforce Development and Civil Society Strengthening Initiative (WDCSSI) between August and September 2003. The WDCSSI was a project born out of the joint efforts of OIC International, Nigeria OIC and USAID to assist the Nigerian people and the government of Nigeria in addressing the problem of workforce development, conflict resolution, NGO strengthening and private sector economic development. In June, 2005, he attended and presented a paper entitled “The Politics of University Governance in Nigeria at the onset of the 21 st Century” at the South African Association for Research and Development in Higher Education (SAARDHE) Conference, held at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa.
