Kaller-Dietrich, Martina, Dr.: born 1963 in Altaussee, Austria. Married to University of Innsbruck Professor Wolfgang Dietrich. Educated in Austria and Mexico. 1988 PhD in philosophy (epistemology of history) at the University of Vienna. Since 1990 faculty member at the Institute of History at the University of Vienna/Austria, teaching mainly History of Latin America, History of Developing Countries, Women in the Third World and Epistemology. 2000 a.o. Universitätsprofessor in Modern History according to the Austrian Law of Higher Education (UOG). Inaugural thesis: Power over Stomachs (=Macht über Mägen). Associated Professor at the Institute of History at the University of Vienna/Austria, and the Austrian Institute for Latin America. Visiting professor at the Institute for Political Sciences at the University of The State of Mexico (UAEM). Member of the faculty of the Centre for Peace and Development Studies at the University of Castellón/Spain. Faculty member of the Master of Arts Program in Peace, Development, Security and International Conflict Transformation at the University of Innsbruck/ Austria. Scholarships and grants: AFS (to Bolivia and Argentina in 1980), to Berlin (Germany) 1985, Mexico-City 1986/87 and a special research grant (FWF: Charlotte-Bühler) of 2 years for Mexico (1996-1998). 2005 Award by the City of Vienna (MA7).
