Le Duc, Florent: born in France. 2001 to 2004: Culture Officer for UNESCO’s regional office for Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) in Almaty. 2004/2005: Director of Bactria Cultural Centre in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, Experience covers the fields of Arts and Culture in Central Asia, with a focus on cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), cultural industries and eco-tourism. Now leading the Bactria Foundation for the French NGO, ACTED. This Foundation aims at developing cultural projects bridging Europe and Central Asia. Running a series of projects around the key concept “Culture as a tool for development”. Performing arts: recently worked in Tajikistan for the Regional Performing Arts forum, gathering 40 participants from all Central Asia, Afghanistan and Europe. This event contributed to strengthen regional and international links in the field of performing arts, with promising contacts and exchanges established among individuals and organisations. The first Handbook on Central Asian Theatre is under preparation. It will provide meeting participants, culture specialists and field operators with an interesting (net)working tool.
