Book Series of INSTTRANS-Studies on the Changing of the WorldEditor: Herbert Arlt (INST) |
The processes of urbanization, transnationalization and virtualization have changed the world fundamentally. After as before there are sharply defined social differences, hunger and misery. The readiness to wage war has arisen again strongly at the beginning of the 21st century.
INST (www.inst.at) is introducing its new series with a volume on the topic "Das Verbindende der Kulturen" (The Unifying Aspects of Cultures), which provides a detailed examination of contemporary cultural processes and makes proposals for changes. Further volumes will treat in terms of symbols ("Uhuru Peak/Kilimanjaro", Aconcagua), signs and power the development of cultures under extreme conditions (the Arctic). Above all they will investigate and illuminate innovations and reproductions as a basis for new (shared) developments of human societies.
