ABSTRACT:

A lot of writers in the past particularly in the 19th century were preoccupied with this vital cause particularly when a great writer like Charles Dickens came and wrote his great masterpiece Oliver Twist by which he enjoyed much popularity among his readers as well as critics. This vital cause still preoccupies a lot of modern and contemporary writers of the 20th century like the Egyptian novelist Hassan Nour who wrote his great novel The North Vortexes. This present study will reveal the aspects of similarities as well as differences between the two different writers who belong to different cultures and centuries. The study will also show how the two writers contributed to solving of this important problem.
