Cultural monuments are not only the sites and edifices listed in the World heritage catalogue by UNESCO, but also works of science, philosophy, literature and music, graphic arts (painting, engraving, design), fashion, as well as traded norms (Hammurabi Code, Magna Carta, Pandectae, malleus maleficorum, etc.) and customs (rites, folklore, festivities, pilgrimages etc.), but also the successful flouting of standards conducive to innovation (Robin Hood, the Fed, the CIA etc.).
