Ars poetics and exile or Exile as a state of mind

Exile is a well known subject in literature, moreso it is a state of mind. We will read here several poems by: Trakl, Rilke, Lorca, Cavafi, Darwish and yousef to demonstrate the theme of exile in poetry in a broader sense of the term i.e Exile as a state of mind, exile as a basic orientation of the poet, it could be an actual exile like Darwish or yousef but it can represent an inner space, a from of observation, a way of wandering in the world gazing at, touching the object without an actual touch, crossing the troubled universe like a spaceship, exile opens a unique opportunities of this ambivalent attitude being without being, knowing without knowing and not to belong i.e. to be free to carry out dreams, as long as you are in a state of exile you are not an actual part of your surroundings i.e. you are in a state of a dream, you are in a state of longing, of missing and therefore you create a imagined motherland, that is poetry. It is very important to be in exile even if you are in your homeland in order to be inspired. the poems we read will show that exile has some unexpected benefits in the process of writing poetry along with the more obvious gloomy aspect of exile.
