War Making, Peace Making and Conflict Resolution in Africa

Through a conceptual definition and discourse on the essence of power and politics, this paper will attempt a comparative examination of the issues of the values, principles and dynamics of war making, peace making and conflict resolution in both pre-colonial and present day Africa.
The paper will assess Africa's peculiar problems and confusion in conflict management and resolution efforts vis-a-vis contemporary international politics.

The paper will also highlight some hints on Africa's pre-colonial methods of conflict prevention, management and resolution as well as how to use the knowledge for effecting reforms where needed for ensuring conflict free Africa. At the end, peace makers should be able to acquire and develop new skills for peace mediation and conflict prevention.
