 Knowledge and "Bildung"
Anette Horn (Cape Town/Berlin)

Looking at the eighteenth century concept of "Bildung" which was the key concept for the formulation of education in Germany in the nineteenth and part of the twentieth century,
one needs to evaluate anew what to do with knowledge.

Otherwise we end up with the general horror of a technocratic world where everything that is technically possible is done.

Papers held at the conference "Knowledge Networking in Cultural Studies" are published in
TRANS. Internet journal for Cultural Studies, No. 10/2001
