Gunduz, Atalay, teaches English as a foreign language at Ege University, Izmir, Turkey. He did his BA, MA and PhD at the same university. In 2005–2006 he went to the USA with a Fulbright scholarship to do his research on his PhD dissertation Turkey and Turks in British Travel Writing from 1850s Onwards. In the US he studied under the supervision of David Espey of University of Pennsylvannia.
Atalay Gunduz is interested in travel writing, postcolonial studies and comparative literature studies.
