Teters, Daina

Teters, Daina: born 1963 in Riga (Latvia). Attended the University of Latvia and the University of Salzburg, received the M.Sc. in 1987 and the Ph.D. in 1996. 1987 – 1990: Lecturer at the Latvian Academy of Music. 1990 – 1999: Lecturer and an Associate Professor at the University of Latvia. Since 2001 Associate Professor and Professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture, Academic Vice-Rector and the Director of the Scientific Research Center for Semiotics. Research interests: theoretical semiotics, semiotics of culture, semiotics of the city, and semiotics of time and space. She has presented her research at international conferences and published it in scientific journals, including the Proceedings of the Latvian Academy of Sciences. She is the Latvian representative to the Executive Committee of the International Association for Semiotic Studies.
