Turyel, Mati graduated from Ege University Department of English Language and Literature in 1998. She finished her M.A in 2002 with the thesis titled Female Characters from Male Point of View in the Works of John Osborne, Tennesse Williams and Haldun Taner at Ege University Department of English Language and Literature. Her areas of interest are Jewish studies, Violence in Literature, Popular Culture and Political Cinema. She is currently a research assistant and a Ph.D candidate at the same department and writing her dissertation titled Wandering Masks: Reconstructing the Jewish Identity In the Twentieth Century Diasporic Narratives.
