Santini, Laura

Laura Santini, (MRes, PhD), is currently a tenure -track Assistant Professor. Her research interests span various areas of both English linguistics (theories and techniques of translation; metaphor studies; eco-linguistics; terminology; ESP and Academic English) and English-speaking literature, i.e., contemporary British literature (H. Pinter, S. Beckett, J. Winterson), North American fiction (D. Coupland, J. Egan), and electronic literature (e-pistolarity; interactive fiction IF and text adventures). Recent publications include: ‚Scenes of vulnerability in you-narratives: Winterson’s PowerBook and Egan’s Black Box‘, (Iperstoria 2020: 203-217); Translation and Intermediality in Samuel Beckett’s Short Prose: ‚Imagination morte imaginez‘ and ‚Assez‘, (Foreword by S. E. Gontarski), Onorati editore, Rome 2020; ‘Conceptual metaphors, Geography, Literature, and the Implications on the In-place or Out-of-place of People and Actions’ (Quaderni del CIRM 1, 2021); ‚On Translation, Hospitality and Language Indifference‘ (Lingue Scritture Potere, GUP 2022) co-authored with L. Polezzi; Standard e ‘requisiti minimi’ di competenza della lingua inglese. Il Progetto Inglese all’interno delle lauree triennali all’Università di Genova’ (E.L.L.E 2023) co-authored with R.
